A quiet rural village is turned upside down when a mysterious fire takes the lives of a married couple. Police officer Hyung-gu is dispatched to investigate the incident, but during the investigation he finds that there is a cage installed in the house and the couple were locked up in the attic during the fire. Suspecting that there may be more to this case, Hyung-gu probes further realising that the townspeople are keeping a dark secret. One night, the townspeople invite Hyung-gu for a drink and the village elder pours him a drink saying it is all ‘his fault’. The next morning, Hyung-gu wakes up discovering that people refuse to recognise him for who he is – a police officer and a father of two. Instead, the townspeople tell him that he is a teacher and single. Falling deeper into a world of delusions Hyung-gu tries to wake himself from this nightmare.
